Delek's natural gas discoveries offshore Israel are the greenest thing that's happened to the country.

A very significant portion of Israel's electricity today is powered by natural gas. Natural gas has virtually no air polluting particles, 30% less CO2 emissions than oil, and 50% less than coal.

That's good news for everyone.

Following the Kyoto Protocol of '05, various countries around the world have committed to move (or are already moving) over to natural gas as a chief source of power. In most countries of the world, it is the only commercially viable way to provide industrialized countries with a comprehensive solution while using renewable energy sources like solar and wind as complimentary power sources.
